My favorite person in a whole world is my husband, Eric Lechasseur and my favorite dog in a whole world is Kula. They are sharing their birthday on May 15th every year.
This is special year for Kula because she is going to be 13 this year!
She is healthy and enjoying eating her vegan macrobiotic food everyday. She loves to eat and enjoy her senior life.
Her B-day breakfast was cooked chunky Kabocha squash, broccoli, daikon radish, shiitake mushroom with homemade Natto (fermented soy beans made with Kombu sea vegetable) and some Nori mixed with soft cooked brown rice. Basic recipe from Healthy Happy Pooch book.
When I am walking with my dogs many people who loves dogs they would like to say “hi” to my dogs and they always ask how old they are. Everyone thinks Kula is 7 or 8 years old so they are so surprised. This must be because what she eats which is plant-based vegan macrobiotic and she is truly a jewel to us.
I was not sure how old dog 13 years vs. humans so I have researched and found one site call Dog Age Calculator
It showed Golden Retriever’s age 13 years old is human’s 96 years old…what???? I can’t believe it so I checked another site How to Calculate Dog Years To Human Years
This one showed by the weight of dogs and since Kula is about 50lb so she is now 74 years human age so I felt this is more like. Golden Retriever’s life span is 10~12 years old so we are just happy whatever her age is in human.
Well even she looks good for her age we need to pay attention that she is aging so we came up with a great idea to make Kula’s food bowl holder to be raised up so Eric made it with a wine bottle wood case that we got one from winery in Oneal, California.
We also noticed that she needs a better bed so we got an orthopedic bed as her the second birthday gift.
And Eric’s birthday he got his new paddle surfing board!
Kula and Eric both love to go to the beach and share their wonderful life together.
Happy Birthday to Eric and Kula!!!
