If you read our first interview article which I posted on the blog on April 23 Vice.
In the interview I was asked if I had my recipes reviewed by an animal nutritionist which I did not at that time, but it was great an opportunity for me to be asked this question so I researched and found the animal nutritionist, Susan Lauten, PhD for the Healthy Happy Pooch (HHP) book. She is a very open minded, knowledgeable and compassionate person. She was able to work with my whole food plant-based homemade dog food recipes to fit nutritional recommendations for various developmental stages through the canine life-span are compared to the National Research Council (NRC) Nutrient Requirements of Dogs and Cats and balanced with the American Association of Feed Control Officials (AAFCO).
It was a last minute decision so I was wondering whether I do or not in order to add Dr. Luten’s dog nutrition information. The completion date will be changed, but I thought her information would be more comprehensive to confirm for all the readers so I decided to do it! Also, laying out the graphics is a bit of a challenge since all the documents were sent to my graphic designer by email and the format does not fit to the layout.
The publish date will be announced as soon as I know, but in the mean time the final front cover of HHP is done and the foreword from Neal D. Barnard, MD – President, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and Sally Lane, DVM, CVA – Holistic Veterinarian. I also received 11 endorsements including from Armaiti May DVM – Vegan Veterinarian.
We can’t wait to find out the publishing date and share it with you!
Looking forward to share Healthy Happy Pooch (HHP) recipes and life with all of you soon.
Wags and woofs!
